Description of Duties:

Field Specialist is responsible for the activities associated with the execution of BMG’s high-performance commissioning plans. Activities will include interviews and facility walk-thrus, development of owners requirements, development of project objectives, management of all related meetings, development and execution of assessment plans, monitoring and testing for performance verification, and management of final project hand-off;  which includes, final report, facility staff training, recommending persistence strategies and project close outs.

Technical skills needed to perform:

3-5 years in commercial mechanical and plumbing equipment installation, repair or construction; degree in Mechanical, Architectural Engineering or Building Science Engineering will be considered. Experience with all phases of design and construction process (i.e. pre-design, design, construction, acceptance and post acceptance); Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Knowledge of applicable life safety codes, regulations and procedures. Experience in design process, standard control strategies, installation, operation and maintenance; thorough knowledge of testing, adjusting, and balancing procedures and methodology. Experience with system design and analysis in a consulting engineering or design-build firm. Familiarity with building control systems which includes the energy, water, indoor climate and environmental sciences. Familiarity with commercial building codes, standards and regulations.  Demonstrated track record of closing projects on time and on budget; proficient in documenting and ability to develop realistic action plans and finally proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
